Itinerary
Day 1: Maras Salt Mines – Piuray Lake – Huaypo Lake
MORNING SHIFT: Pick-up from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Main Square fountain).
AFTERNOON SHIFT: Pick-up from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Main Square fountain).
Our starting point is the fountain at the Main Square or hotels near the square. From here, we will head to the base in MARAS, with an approximately one-hour journey in our tourist transportation.
Once at the base, there will be a briefing and driving instruction led by our guides. You will then have a 15-minute practice. Afterward, we will begin our ATV journey, which will last around 4 and a half hours, round trip.
After the practice, we will head to Piuray Lake, where you will have 20 minutes to explore on your own. Continuing the tour, we will proceed to Huaypo Lake, where we will enjoy 20 minutes appreciating the surroundings. Then, we will continue on ATVs to Moray for a 20-minute visit.
After concluding our visits, we will return on ATVs to our base, then board the vehicle that will take us to the MARAS SALT MINES (20-minute visit). Once the visit is done, we will head back to the city of Cusco.

- Wear comfortable and suitable clothing for walking on uneven terrain.
- Use sturdy and comfortable footwear, preferably hiking boots.
- Carry a small backpack with water, snacks, and sunscreen.
- Bring a jacket or lightweight coat, as the weather in the mountains can change.
- Use sunscreen, wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses on sunny days.
- Carry cash in soles and dollars (there are no ATMs).
- Make sure to carry your identification documents.
