Prevention of Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents in the Tourism Sector (ESNNA)

ESNNA stands for the Sexual Exploitation of Girls, Boys, and Adolescents in the Tourism Sector. It refers to the use of the bodies of underage individuals for sexual, pornographic, or erotic purposes in exchange for payment, the promise of payment, or other benefits such as food, clothing, cell phones, etc.

In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) aims to raise awareness among regional and local authorities, tourism service providers, and the general public through prevention actions aimed at eradicating this issue in the country.

  • Technical assistance to regional and local governments: We provide training to officials working in regional and local governments on the prevention of the sexual exploitation of girls, boys, and adolescents in the tourism sector.
  • Informative videos: We make audiovisual materials available to sensitize officials and tourism service providers and teach them good practices to prevent ESNNA.
  • Capacity building for tourism service providers: We raise awareness, provide information, and share good practices with tourism service providers regarding the prevention of ESNNA.
  • Dissemination of the subscription to codes of conduct against ESNNA: We promote the signing of the Sworn Declaration of Mandatory Subscription to the Code of Conduct against the Sexual Exploitation of Girls, Boys, and Adolescents by the legal representatives of tourism service providers. This is in accordance with Law No. 30802, which establishes conditions for the entry of girls, boys, and adolescents into lodging establishments, with the aim of guaranteeing their protection and integrity.
