Arequipa – City tour – Colca Canyon – The Sillar route

Day 1: CHECK IN – MIRABUS CITY TOUR

At the indicated time, our team will transfer you from the Airport to your respective hotel.

At 02:00 p.m., we will start our exploration aboard the “Panoramic Bus.” Our first stop will be in the district of Yanahuara, where you can admire portals with various engravings and its traditional church. Then, we will head to the Carmen Alto Viewpoint in the Cayma district, from where you will have a panoramic view of the terraced fields. Afterwards, we will move on to Incalpaca, where you will find a mini zoo with the 4 South American camelids: Alpaca, Vicuña, Llama, and Guanaco. We will continue to the Mansion of the Founder, a house that houses valuable historical relics. We will end at the Sabandia Mill, a working mill for years where you can enjoy activities like horseback riding or ATV rides. At the end, we will drop you off near the historic center for your convenience.

Day 2: COLCA CANYON FULL DAY

From 02:30 a.m. to 03:15 a.m., we will pick up from hotels in the city center.

After a 3-hour journey, we will arrive in the charming town of Chivay, where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then, we will head to the Cruz del Cóndor Viewpoint, 30 minutes away, a privileged spot to observe the majestic flight of the condors and appreciate the greatness of the Colca Canyon for about 45 minutes.

On the way back, we will make stops at viewpoints to admire the stunning terraces of the Valley. We will then visit the picturesque village of Maca, where you can see its church and try typical drinks like the Colca Sour. Before lunch, you will have the opportunity to relax in the Thermal Springs (cost on the passenger’s own account), with thermo-medicinal waters ranging from 35°C to 38°C in the pools.

At 12:30 p.m., lunch in Chivay (cost on the passenger’s own account).

We begin the return trip to Arequipa and stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes, the highest point of the road (4,800 meters above sea level), where you can enjoy panoramic views of the western mountain range. We will also make a brief stop at the Toccra Wetlands, where you will see a large number of Alpacas in their natural environment. Finally, bordering the Chachani snow-capped mountain towards Pampa Cañahuas, we will pass through the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, home to vicuñas that freely inhabit the area.

At 05:00 p.m., we will arrive in the city of Arequipa and drop you off near the Plaza de Armas.

Day 3: SILLAR ROUTE – CHECK OUT

From 08:30 a.m. to 09:00 a.m., we will pick up from hotels located in downtown Arequipa.

We will begin our journey to the Sillar Route, a tourist experience rich in history and living culture. First, we will stop at the Añashuayco Quarry, approximately 45 minutes away. Here, you can appreciate an impressive canyon with ignimbrite cliffs several meters high, the result of sillar extraction. You will learn about the history and production of sillar and have the opportunity to experience cutting stone blocks.

Then, we will head to the Culebrillas Ravine, 30 minutes away, to take a 20-minute walk in a small canyon formed by water erosion. At the end of the walk, you will see petroglyphs over a thousand years old from the Wari culture. Before returning to the city, we will observe the Apachetas, stone formations that symbolize gratitude and good luck.

At 11:30 a.m., we will start the return to the city of Arequipa.

At 12:30 p.m., we will arrive in downtown Arequipa and drop you off near the Plaza de Armas. At the indicated time, we will transfer you from your hotel to the Airport. End of our services.
