Itinerary

Day 1: Uros Islands – Taquile Island

We will begin the adventure with a pick-up from your hotel at 6:40 a.m. heading to the lakeside port of Puno, where you will board a comfortable motorboat that will take us to the astonishing floating island of the Uros. There, you will have the opportunity to explore this unique environment for 45 minutes.

Our guide, friendly and fluent in English and Spanish, will accompany you from the starting point, sharing valuable information about the life and traditions of the local inhabitants.

The Uros are an ancestral community that inhabits more than 40 islands built with totora reeds by their own residents. They use these reeds to build their homes, make boats (rafts), and even as fuel and food. During this excursion, we will explore the main island and visit around 2 or 3 additional islands, spending about 30 minutes on each one (with the option to tour them in the iconic Totora reed boats).

Afterward, we will continue to Taquile Island, where a 1-hour walk awaits us to reach the picturesque village.

In Taquile, we will have 3 hours to explore the place, enjoying the beautiful landscape and immersing ourselves in the local traditions. We will have lunch at an authentic restaurant, where you can savor a typical lunch based on trout, a local delicacy. Additionally, you will have free time to explore the island and meet its inhabitants, who will show you their way of life through their beautiful textiles.

The return journey to Puno is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., arriving in Puno around 5:00 p.m. (by regular boat) or around 3:50 p.m. (by fast boat). Once at the port, we will take care of your transfer back to your hotel.
